Bio Ethanol Production Procedure |
 |
¢Â Conduct thermal decomposition
(800¡É-1,300 ¡É) for MSW or sludge generated
while processing sewage and generate
synthetic gas (H,CO,CH4).
¢Â Synthetic gas is synthesized into
ethanol by bacteria.
¢Â High purity ethanol separated from
water through distillation and filtering
is mixed with gasoline and used as high
octane oil or fuel.
¢Â As the cost to process the urban waste
and sludge that are usually incinerated
or dumped into ocean can be saved and
ethanol can be produced, it is a necessary
project in the aspect of recycling and
resource security. |

Advantage of Bio Ethanol |
¢Â Various wastes such as plastic,
sludge, lignin, residue, urban waste
and so forth can be recycled.
- Cost to process urban waste: 250,000won/ton
(cost to collect by processing company)
- Cost to process sludge: 50,000won/ton
(cost to collect by processing company)
- Bio ethanol production rate: 300liter/1ton
(biomass)
- Cost to produce bio ethanol: 150,000won/300liter
(amount of ethanol that can be produced
from 1ton of biomass)
|
¢Â Bio ethanol production technology
by using bacteria is superior than foreign
technology.
- In case of foreign technology that
uses bio ball, the ethanol production
capacity is 0.92% but the production
capacity of Korea Innotech that has
FLOCKED MEDIA manufacture technology
is 4.73%, which is 5 times higher. |
| ¢Â Char and tar produced during
gasification are small. |

Foreign Bio Ethanol Related Policy |
< America >
¢Â Through the expansion of alternative
energy use and energy saving, it aims
to reduce the consumption of petroleum
by 20% by 2017
¢Â Support bio ethanol producer and consumer:
Tax reduction, grant
¢Â More than 20 % of total corn production
in the United States: Use for producing
saccharide bio ethanol
¢Â Lignum bio ethanol: Plan to commercialize
the technology to use wood chip, crop
stalk, switch grass and so forth by
2013 |
< Brazil >
¢Â Has developed bio ethanol as national
project since 1975.
¢Â Use more than 50% of sugarcane production
for producing bio ethanol
¢Â In 2004, replaced 30% of total vehicle
fuel consumption by domestic bio ethanol.
¢Â The production capacity of Korea Innotech
that has the manufacture technology
is 4.73%, which is 5 times higher |
< European Union >
¢Â Replace 5.75% of transportation fuel
by bio fuel by 2010
¢Â Increase to 25% by 2030
*Compared to this, domestic condition
is in the stage of expanding support
for research and drafting policies.
